Kuhn Reveals the Advance .1 Series Fertilizer Spreaders for Superior Precision and Performance

Growers in North America have a new cause for celebration because of a cutting-edge range of equipment designed to be unique in the field. With their large working widths and unmatched accuracy, KUHN's AdvanceTM.1 Series trailed fertilizer spreaders are made for operators who want to use the best precision broadcast spreaders available without compromising their capacity to apply large volumes of fertilizer.

According to Phil Loduha, a product management specialist at Kuhn North America, Inc., "what sets us apart is our ability to do both." The innovative design is made to maximize the bottom line of both commercial operators and larger row-crop farmers by enabling them to cover more acres faster. There are two variants with capacities of 300 and 350 cubic feet and up to 164 feet in operating width.

KUHN solves a long-standing problem and produces a win-win solution for producers and crops nationwide with the AdvanceTM.1 Series.

"The most significant feature of the trailed fertilizer spreader is the two switchable power packs at the rear of the machines, which are unique in the industry. One module is for high precision spreading, and the other is for high volume spreading," adds Loduha.

With its innovative features such as EMC rate control for highly accurate fertilizer metering, section, headland, and border control, as well as a CDA system for accuracy in wide spread patterns for granular fertilizer, broadcast seed application, and cover crops, the Axis® Power Pack is hydraulically driven and designed for precision spreading. Growers need to apply soil supplements in tones per acre instead of pounds per acre, and the optional Universal Power Pack makes it possible to distribute lime and other nutrients in large quantities.

In addition to offering the most accurate application rate control available (facilitated by GPS mapping), the AdvanceTM.1 Series trailed fertilizer spreaders have a larger total volume than mounted models, making them suitable for pre- or post-season spreading as well as in-season fertilizer application.

According to Loduha, "our partners in Germany are the ones who actually developed the technology that goes into these fertilizer spreaders, especially the Axis Power Pack, where it has been in use for over 20 years." A high-clearance frame, adjustable axle width, a 304 stainless steel hopper (made to withstand corrosion), and a variety of tire options combine to provide a product that appeals to North American operators while yet being highly functional.

According to Loduha, "the high-precision features that help with both nutrient management and fertilizer efficiency while minimizing environmental impact are really going to speak to customers."
