Building Prosperity: India's Farming Plans for Growing More Wealth

The government carries out a number of programmers to promote farmers' livelihoods, increase agricultural output, and guarantee their wellbeing.

In an effort to raise the standard of life for farmers and the nation's farming industry, the Indian government has been aggressively putting many projects and programmers into action. These initiatives aim to provide farmers with financial support, ensure lucrative returns, and boost production. Let's examine the details of these efforts:

    1. National Food Security Mission (NFSM)

The National Food Security Mission (NFSM) employs a multimodal strategy to increase the production of rice, wheat, and pulses. This entails increasing the area under agriculture, raising production, reviving soil fertility, and supporting local farmers' financial security.

    2.Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)

The Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) is a comprehensive programme aimed at empowering farmers and reducing risks in order to turn farming into a successful enterprise. With sub-components like Per Drop More Crop, Agriculture Mechanisation, Soil Health Improvement, and Crop Diversification, it focuses on strengthening pre- and post-harvest infrastructure.

    3.National Mission on Edible Oil-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP)

In order to attain edible oil self-sufficiency, the National Mission on Edible Oil-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) seeks to promote oil palm production, with a special emphasis on areas such as the North-Eastern States and the A&N Islands. The mission's goal is to reduce reliance on imports by growing oil palm plantations by 6.5 lakh hectares over the course of the next five years.

4.Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN)

All around the country, landholding farmer families can get financial support under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) programmer. Eligible farmers earn Rs. 6000 per year in three installments straight into their bank accounts under this initiative.

5.Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)

The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), which was introduced in 2016, provides crop insurance protection against natural hazards during the crop cycle.

    6. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY)

By providing a contributing pension plan, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY) offers social security to poor farming households.

    7. Institutional Credit and Kisan Credit Cards (KCC)

Increased accessibility has been the outcome of efforts to improve institutional credit for the agriculture sector, with a particular emphasis on providing concessional loans through Kisan Credit Cards (KCC).

    8. Agricultural Mechanization and Infrastructure Development

A substantial amount of money has been set aside for agricultural mechanization, and subsidies have made it possible for farmers to get almost 15 lakh machines and pieces of equipment. Furthermore, the one lakh crore Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) seeks to enhance community farming assets and post-harvest management.

    9. Formation and Promotion of FPOs

Through group action, farmers would be empowered under the government's Plan for the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

    10. Namo Drone Didi

The goal of the recently approved Namo Drone Didi programmer is to give drones to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) so they may rent them out to farmers for agricultural usage.

    11. Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA)

The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) encourages farmers around the nation to adopt contemporary agricultural technology and practices.

These programmers demonstrate the government's dedication to promoting sustainability, reviving the agriculture industry, and guaranteeing the well-being of Indian farmers.
